| Isabelle Vets
have a long pedigree of animal care within the Bailiwick. Our practice was founded by
Eustace Laine in 1919 on his return from the Great War. At that time the practice was at
the top of the Grange and was almost entirely concerned with the care of the Island's
cattle and horses. After the occupation, Eustace Laine was joined by Pierre Blampied and
the Practice moved to "Bon Air" in Queen's Road. In 1951 Mr. Laine died and some
time after this Pierre was joined by David Le Cheminant who subsequently joined Pierre as
a partner. At this time the practice was still predominantly agricultural but there was an
increasing demand for companion animal care. To cope this this demand the practice moved
to a purpose built surgery in Route Isabelle in the late 1970's and at the time this was
one of a few such facilities available in the entire UK. The practice has expanded
steadily with branch surgeries now in Sark and L'Islet and a major re-development of the
main surgery at Route Isabelle in 2001.
The main surgery at Route Isabelle
has been inspected by the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) and
has been judged to meet all their standards of care.
Isabelle Vets currently employs 7
vets, 7 nurses and 10 receptionists. Our vets all exceed their recommended annual
post-graduate training requirements. Our practice is also a registered nurse training
centre and we currently have 2 qualified veterinary nurses (RANA's) and 3 training
for this qualification.
Isabelle Vets is equipped with all
the most up to date veterinary technology to enable us to use the best methods of
diagnosis and treatment. When specialist care is required we have access to a network of
experts throughout the UK to whom we can refer patients.
Our aim at Isabelle Vets is to
provide your animals with the best possible care available within the Bailiwick of
Guernsey. |
