A complete service for your horses
Focusing on preventative care, we deliver a full range of first-opinion equine veterinary services for horses across Route Isabelle, L’Islet, Sark and the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
Our experienced team includes a certificate holder in equine dentistry, allowing us to perform all procedures carried out by equine dental technicians, as well as more complex procedures.
Alongside routine healthcare, we provide our own 24-hour mobile emergency service and can investigate conditions such as lameness, poor performance, skin disease and colic, backed by high quality equipment and facilities.
How we can help
Emergency care
We have a veterinary surgeon on-call 24 hours a day to assist with emergencies such as colic, wounds and choke. In an emergency, please call us on (01481) 723863 for advice.
Routine visits
Pre-booked routine visits are a great opportunity to arrange dentistry and vaccinations, and discuss nutrition, worming and topics such as lameness and poor performance issues with a vet.
Vaccinations
We strongly advise vaccinating against influenza and tetanus. During vaccination appointments, we will carry out a clinical examination to assess your horse’s health.
Worm egg counts
We can conduct worm egg counts using our in-house laboratory facility. Our team can advise on worm control and suitable wormer products, if required.
Dentistry
We offer routine and more advanced dental treatments, and can also offer advice on maintaining optimal dental hygiene in horses.
Our dental equipment includes a dental camera, motorised and manual floats and equipment for dental assessment.
Castration
Our surgical offering includes castration services for horses and ponies.
Diagnostics
Our diagnostic services include x-ray, ultrasound, gastroscopy and endoscopy.
Investigations
Using mobile diagnostic equipment, we can investigate and manage lameness, poor performance, respiratory disease, skin disease, recurrent colic, weight loss and other conditions.
Physiotherapy
Our veterinary surgeons have an excellent working relationship with farriers and physiotherapists to provide a holistic approach to treatment.
Laboratory services
We have an in-house laboratory, allowing us to test blood and urine samples and conduct worm egg counts.
Mobile diagnostics
We have digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and gastroscopy facilities. Equipment can be brought to the stable yard for use in many cases – this is particularly useful for horses who will not box or are very nervous.
