It’s Hay Fever Season

Pet Hay Fever

Yes, pets do get hay fever and it is much the same as with ourselves. We are surprised that we don’t get more cases, especially when one realises that their noses and eyes are often in the grass. The symptoms areas for ourselves; runny, sore eyes, nasal discharge, sneezing, lethargy and just feeling under the weather. We have no licensed cat and dog antihistamines in either eye drop or oral form and if we believe that they are appropriate for the symptoms we must use with care and owner’s permission, the human medicine chest. Please be careful with self-medicating as the wrong diagnosis can lead to potentially more serious disease becoming deep-seated and problematic.

So if you have a pet which appears to have the symptoms and often a little worse when they have been outside for a walk or play we would advise reaching for professional help.
